By way of introduction, I have played the lever harp for over 12 years. I discovered the lever harp on a rather magical St.Patricks day and six months later purchased one. I began lessons and have been loving the harp ever since.
A variety of music is available for lever harp since lever harps are really the first historical harps — concert harps were invented in the 19th century. Lever harps also known as Celtic harps are the perfect instruments for early and medieval music, celtic music, hymns and religious music, also well-known Baroque and light classical music. My repetoire includes a wide variety of music both as solo instrument, and in ensemble.
As a harpist I have played a variety of venues from weddings to historical fairs. I play a variety of music: folk music including celtic music, historical music both early and medieval, many hymns and religious compositions, and some well-known and beloved Baroque and classical compositions.
Performing on harp, together with flutist Rita Brockway of Clarksburg, we offer a creative music eclectic - music that vibrates to both the celtic and applachian traditions.
